Topics of Interest

It was stated by Vitruvius that architecture is “firmness, commodity and delight.” Architecture does need to be solid and complete. It also must provide the required function or utility for its occupants, and of course it should be visually compelling and inspiring.

Architecture is influenced as well by the broader realm of ideas. This part of our site presents some of these topics in brief narrative form and to begin a discussion on how these topics and ideas may affect architecture and the built environment today.

Some of these topics may reside in areas where there is a wide body of opinion. On all things that affect the quality of the built environment, we encourage an open discourse.
