Too School for Cool

Back in school, got my first Covid shot, tired of hunkering down. Grateful for the writing deadlines that school has brought. Humanities 220 capstone class has inspired me to paint with words.

Intercultural Human Experience paper: choose a human condition, and expose said condition across three diverse cultures (from any time). I chose to find “endurring common ground”.

My capstone paper for the same Humanities class; this paper was so fun to write, at times it almost wrote itself; I think I experienced what might be called a writers’ high. The assignment was to choose a Classic Text and a Contemporary issue and indulge. I chose Miguel de Cervantes’ novel “The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha” and the modern issue of self-representation in a court of law [stop rolling your eyes].

The Humanities capstone paper also required a slide summary; again this was a pleasure to create.

I emailed a copy of my capstone paper and slide show summary to the author of a secondary source; Professor AJW Taylor of New Zealand responded with encouragement and a few more reference citations to shine a light ahead.

(Sept 21, 2024)
Back in 2021 there were a few threads in the capstone essay that I wanted to explore at the time, and, a ‘graphic orphan’ I wanted to address, but, I guess, deadline restsrictions are there for my safety and sanity too. Three years on now and the essay is tweaked and that orphan graphic has finally found safe harbor.

AJW Taylor’s original one page published reference I used in my original capstone eassy.

Addendum, here is another in a series of my assignments, this one is for a Sociology class.
